CAMP!

Wow!
We had the most amazing camp!

If your a Room 3 parent no doubt you have heard all about our camp- perhaps you were even on it with us! If not here is what we got up to and some pics to go with it!

Day one saw us travelling down to Napier. On the way we first stopped in Wairoa to pick up Whaea Jenni. Then on to Tutira School. We popped in to see what Tutira are up to, as they are a silver enviro school like us! They took us on a tour to show us how they look after the environment.

Then we arrived in Napier! First stop in Napier was at Ocean Spa! It was a chilly day so it was awesome to be able to have a soak in the warm pools!

After Ocean Spa we headed down to the Aquarium. Sandy met us down there while we took in the sites of Marine Parade and made the most of the beautiful big foot/bike path!

When we arrived at the Aquarium, Jacque met us and we got straight in to learning about the "Little Penguin". We learnt they are not called Little Blue penguin any more as people have had disagreements on what colour they actually are!

After learning about the Little Penguin we headed down into the Oceanerium where we were going to be spending the night, and had our tasty dinner! While we were waiting there Polly and Mrs Hook (We gave them their pirate names!) met us and helped us make our pirate hats. We then had a treasure hunt around the aquarium! All teams won some lollies! We quickly made our beds and then got to meet a bearded dragon! Her name was Anok.

BED TIME! And everyone was very good at getting themselves to sleep quickly- I think we were all very tired as well!

Then up for day 2!

Day 2 started with us having breakfast then we got to see the Paku fish getting fed. (Ask Kaedyn about the Paku fish- he has a whole lot of info on them!)

We knew we had a bit of a surprise happening, so after packing up we headed to the penguin enclosure.... we got to watch the penuins getting fed! And then we got to meet Draco the penguin! This doesn't happen at the aquarium for anyone- we were extra lucky and special!

After meeting Draco we got to watch the diver feeding the fish- Matt the diver was a high light for many!

We packed up the bus after watching Matt and then headed off to Perfume Point to see the "Art for Sea Life" big mural on the light house on the point. Then we headed down the board walk to lunch before heading to Eskdale school!

Eskdale school are an enviroschool- a Green Gold enviroschool!! So we were pretty keen to see what it takes to have a green gold enviroschool.

Then we made our way back to our whanau in Mahia!

All up we had an amazing camp! And we were very lucky that we had amazing parents helping us out.

If you see any Room 3 people about do ask them about camp! They are full of all sorts of info they learnt while there!
