Tracking

You may have seen there has been a lot about tracking in our home learning lately!

This is because for Science this term we are thinking about the school and what happens during night time, especially our very important garden!

So we've begun to research tracking animals. We have a very good understanding thanks to Whaea Jenni and Mr Hoek about what certain animals tracks look like- now it's time to see them for ourselves on our own tracking pads!

Some of our groups are making their own tracking tunnels from scratch. They've started this process by drawing plans and measuring up on our tunnel material. They've been thinking hard about how to "lure" or "bait" the animals to our tunnels, and one group has even come up with a plan about only tracking one animals tracks instead of trying to work out heaps of them!

Keep your eyes peeled and we will put some photos up of our completed tunnels and our findings.

We will be presenting our findings in the science fair at the end of this term!
