This is my story and picture about the Hare and the Tortiose.
The Hare was fast. The Tortiose was slow.

Week 9

I cannot believe this week (Week 10) is the last week for this term!

We all deserve a nice relaxing holiday in Room 3- we have been working so hard this term. I have been so impressed with all the cool things happening in class. We have some master sounder outers, which has meant our writing has been whizzing along! We have also been busy making sure we know all the ways to make 10. We have been subitising to practice this. Subitising is being able to instantly recognise a number of objects in a small group.

This week (Week 10) is going to be very busy. Unfortunately our Pet Day was cancelled for Tuesday- due to this very yukky weather.  Wednesday we have a special visitor to school for our Duffy Assembly. His name is Will Hall (all of you Shorties fans will remember him as Kip!). On Thursday we have our Performing Arts Performance! And I know everyone will be very sleepy for our final day of the term- Friday, which is our class Pirate Party! So expect a blog update next weekend with some very awesome photos!

Make sure you get some rest this week where you can fit it! No doubt the week will fly by!

Alyss's Blog

In writing I am learning to sound out all my words and write about our pet rocks. My rock looks talented and beautiful.

Week 8

My gosh I cannot believe we are into Week 9 already!

We had a lot of fun during week 8. We started on the undercoat for our pet rocks. The kids have selected their rocks, and very careful planning is underway as to what they are going to look like at the end.

We were very lucky last week to have Miss Hickling come and visit us! Annnnnd she even bought up her caravan. Miss Hickling has been working on getting her caravan looking all flash. We all went inside and had a look!

Us all hanging out in Miss Hickling's caravan.

This week we are getting ready for Pet Day, and getting ourselves all sorted for Performing Arts. Our class are sea creatures. We have some Sharks, Crayfish, and some mermaids! We're going to look awesome. Enjoy your Week!

Lucas's Post

Today I made a pattern. It has blue squares and green circles. I made it with a potato.

Week 7

Week 7 we had the awesome opportunity to plant trees at the Whangawehi Bridge. Room 3 worked very hard to get as many trees in as possible, and listened carefully to their house leaders when they were told which trees like what conditions.

In literacy we have been working on sounding out words before we write them. We have been working hard at doing this all by ourselves, and our writing has been awesome!

On Friday we worked on creating our own patterns for maths out of potato stamps. We worked out what colours, and what shapes our pattern would have on it while Miss D'Ath cut out our potato stamps. We then had a lot of fun stamping out our patterns.

This week we have cross country on Thursday. We are sending a very speedy group of 5 and 6 year old runners! We will keep you updated on their results!

Hope you all enjoy the sunshine this week!
