Tamariki
in our Kowhai maths group were learning to skip count in two’s with Aunty Les. A
fun hands on approach was getting them lacing the numbers together with wool on
rectangle bits of card cut out (can also use round paper plates too).
Skip
counting or counting in multiples is a skill
children need to learn early on. Combine it with lacing, and you have a fine motor skills activity too!
The tamariki enjoyed the activity and
Tarquinn and James also shared their learning in front of the whole school at
assembly too. Tau kē tamariki ma!
