Halfway through the term!

What a cool week we had last week!

First up we had a visit from my good friend Lucy who is an ED Nurse. Lucy came up to share with us all she knows about the body and the heart. She even bought her stethoscope with her so we could all listen to our hearts, our lungs, and even our tummy rumbles!

Lucy explained to us that when we breath in, we breath in oxygen, and when we breath out it is carbon dioxide. Oxygen is what trees create, and we need, and carbon dioxide is what we create and trees need... we both work together to keep each other alive!

We have been doing a lot of work on our fractions at the moment. We know that the top number is the numerator, and that the bottom number is the denominator. We also know that the bottom numbers job is to tell us how many pieces our whole is cut into.

We are working hard in these photos to see what fraction these shapes are in.

And on Thursday when the school was out of power we had cross country! And what an awesome day it was. This wasn't just ordinary cross country, it was "literally" cross country. Room 3 kids ran hard and were very impressive with their stamina, and determination. They should all be very proud of how they did.

Jhalena digging it in coming up hill!

Violet battling the hill!

Shayne sticking at it while running up hill!

Rahkai on the final straight.

Lucas with enough energy to grin while he runs!

Elliot pushing through to the end!

Waitama rushing for the finish line!

6 year old boys before they start!

We hope you all have a good week!
