Super Learners in Room 3

This term in Room 3 we are learning about money. This is very important with our school gala happening this term.

We have big plans for the Gala and really want to keep our school pool open.

As well as preparing for Gala we have been doing our class chores and getting "paid". This has been teaching us all about working hard for money. Our money is fake money, but at the end of term we will have a Room 3 shop where we can buy things with our money.

Room 3 have been working extra hard to get their classroom jobs done, and are making sure it is a job well done so that they get their full pay. If they do half a job they get half their pay and if they don't do their job they don't get any pay. They have secret "banks" where they put their pay and they are very keen to count their money at the end of each day.

We have created our list of jobs as a class and these were pulled out of a hat to decide who was doing what. Some of the jobs are big responsibilities, such as using Miss D'Ath's keys to open the ipad cupboard, and to open the resource room for fruit. Room 3 tamariki have all stepped up to these responsibilities and at the end of the day are very proud of doing a job well.

We are all looking forward to our store at the end of the term. We will keep you posted about how it all goes.
