Week 5

Woo week 5 is over already. We've been so busy too!

Last Friday we had our swimming sports. Room 3 is full of some very talented swimmers, and some very determined swimmers! We discussed in class that it didn't matter where you came, it only mattered that you gave it your best. Room 3 swimmers took this on board and they were awesome!

This week we had our school triathlon, and you guessed it- Room 3 all gave it their best! Everyone participated and had a good time doing it. 

We also had our first 3 way conferences this week. It is so cool seeing how proud our students are of their work. I am looking forward to hearing and seeing the rest of them next week.

It is very sad that our camp has had to be postponed. Unfortunately the weather is not looking very good, so we will be having it in Term 4 instead.

New Pages!

Woohoo Miss D'Ath worked out how to add new pages to the blog!

The first new page I have added is "Videos". Here you will find all the videos we listen and sing along to in class. Some of them for learning, and some of them to get us moving.

This term I will be adding more pages based on our Learning Intentions in class so that you know what we are up to and so you can spend time chatting, playing games and learning with your tamariki.

Harold Visits!

We had a very special visitor at school this week! 

Harold came with his friend Quentin to show us his classroom - which is in the back of a truck! Harold and Quentin taught us all about looking after our friends and ourselves. Today we took Kapai in to meet Harold, and we also got to meet some more of Harolds friends.

Don't forget next week we have Junior swimming sports on Friday! We've been praticing a lot! 

Term 1 "We're Back!"

Welcome to Term 1 2015. Our holidays flew by and it is so nice to see everyones smiling faces back at school!

As you may know Kapai and I headed overseas. We went to Belgium and ate some beautiful Belgian chocolate, we went to England and saw the Queen (At the wax museum)! We went to York in the snow! We went to Scotland, and we went to Paris (and ate some snails!) Kapai had a blast seeing all the sights- and everyone enjoyed meeting him overseas.  We are very pleased we came home to this beautiful weather though!

This week we have been getting back into the swing of things. We have been swimming every day! It has been such beautiful weather.

This term we are focussing on creating awesome writing, and sounding out new words all by ourselves. We are also learning how to brain storm before we write. In maths we are looking at statistics, as well as learning about numbers before and after, and counting on. Counting on makes adding a lot easier!

I hope you have all had a lovely break. Keep your eyes peeled for some super exciting student work that will be appearing on here shortly!
